The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) is an independent, nonpartisan agency that works for Congress. Often called the "congressional watchdog," GAO investigates how the federal government spends taxpayer dollars.
GAO has been a top “Best Places to Work” among midsize agencies since 2005. Also this year, GAO was again first in its support of diversity in the midsize agency category.

This session will explore how GAO’s commitment to a diverse and inclusive workforce has resulted in high rates of employee satisfaction and, specifically, how agencies can:

  • Consistently and efficiently promote agency-wide initiatives
  • Measure the effectiveness of these communications against the backdrop of employee engagement
  • Identify audiences where more targeted outreach is needed
